IART - International Association of Rebreather Trainers

IART rebreather flowchart 2016 EFollowing a meeting at HQ it has been decided to make the new rebreather training standards effective immediately and this newsletter is dedicated to this theme.
The old standards of Level I user (air diluent, no deco) followed by a dive experience phase before continuing to the Level II Extended Range (with Option (A) Air diluent deco to 40m or option (B) Normoxic Trimix diluent deco to 60m is replaced by a more flexible user course that better reflects the widely differing qualifications of divers starting with rebreathers.

The new standards can be summarized as follows: Level I user (air diluent, no deco) unchanged but followed by the option for some divers to complete a 40m deco module immediately following the User course dives using either air or normoxic Trimix depending on the personal qualifications.

Dive Show Birmingham 2014 017At short notice we were able to secure space on a stand at the Birmingham dive show 25th-26th October.

A big thanks to Tom and George, Below1bar.com for making us feel so welcome. The show was well attended and it was a great opportunity to work with Dave Gration and also an opportuity for some of our instructors to meet him personally.

We will certainly be back at next year's show again with Below1bar and we are discussing with them the possibility of taking a place on their stand at the Irish dive Show too.

UK RO1We are pleased to announce that Dave Gration is the new Regional Office holder for IART UK and Ireland. Dave brings a huge amount of experience with him and will make a major contribution to seeing IART become more established in the UK and Ireland.
